Fjord Tents Aarhus workshop

Built in Aarhus,
shipped worldwide

Fjord Tents was founded in 2008 by Lars Engberg, a former sail-maker who had spent a decade repairing and building custom canvas work for the Danish maritime industry. Lars believed that the same precision and durability demanded by sailing equipment should be applied to camping tents and outdoor shelters — and that Danish consumers deserved better than what cheap imports were offering.

Starting with a small workshop on the Aarhus waterfront, Lars and two colleagues began producing canvas tents for local campsites and boat clubs. Word spread quickly. By 2012, Fjord Tents had outgrown its original space and moved to our current 1,800 m² facility on Marselis Boulevard — a few hundred metres from the coast.

Today we employ 22 craftspeople and designers, and ship to more than 35 countries. Every tent, gazebo and piece of furniture is still made by hand in Aarhus. Nothing about that has changed.

Our values

Made in Denmark

Every product is designed and manufactured in our Aarhus workshop. We source materials from European suppliers where possible and never outsource production to cut costs.

Coast-Proven Durability

Denmark's west coast is one of the windiest coastlines in Europe. We test every product in real conditions. If it survives Jutland in February, it will survive anything.

Honest & Transparent

Fixed prices, realistic lead times, no hidden extras. We tell you what's possible, what it costs and when it will be ready — and we stick to it. Our 5-year warranty is unconditional.
